I have previously thought that I should just dodge the whole “catchy title” business altogether, and name my blog posts for whatever song snippet is currently stuck in my head… were I to do that, this week’s blog post would be entitled “I’ve got soul, but I’m not a soldier” from All These Things That I’ve Done by The Killers.
As I write this, I currently have $8.35 in my account. And my husband’s account is $32.83 in the hole. I don’t say this for sympathy… we’ve got food figured out for now, $100 coming in a day or so, and payday on Thursday. It’s really not even the worst circumstances we’ve been in. But close.
If I were to make a list of the bills that are behind, and house in another that still needs placed on the market (a very large monkey on our back), and the people who are calling us every day to remind of bills we cannot pay, and combined it with the status of our bank accounts, it would paint a very grim picture indeed.
And yet, I have a sense of hope… as though something magical is just around the corner. A change in the wind, a shifting of fate… something. I had this feeling already, for no reason whatsoever, but it’s only grown stronger since I figured out what I want to do for my website/blog/business.
I don’t want to reveal too much, until I have it all set up and running, but just know that it involves slow living, business, Miyazaki, and the topical variety I’ve been craving. This will give me freedom to work on freelance writing, or homeschool mentoring, or creative coaching.
So this is a short update, because of that. I need to get things rolling again, to try and change our stars, and help improve our financial woes. But I need to do it right… do it sustainably, or I’ll burn myself out again. So this morning, I’m working on a Skillshare class I’m in the middle of, but this afternoon, I’ll be working on my logo.
I’d love to hear from you… what’s something exciting you’re in the middle of? And what’s your favorite Miyazaki film?
Also I kind of love that title idea too. 😂
I've only ever seen Totoro and Kiki. Studio Ghibli is new to me since Davy has been born. I love them both for different reasons. And I love bringing that vibe into your business. 🥰
